The 2011 Syrah entices with a nose of red currant, black cherry, plum and cassis. With a juicy attack of sweet red fruit, the wine smoothly transitions to a focused mid-palate with a long, lingering finish or Italian plums, black raspberries and a hint of fennel seed and sweet pipe tobacco.
The fruit for the 2011 vintage was picked in early November and allowed to cold soak for five days before fermentation began. The wine was aged in approximately 36% new French oak for 16 months.
